Dinner Time

Tina and Hayley entered the hall, talking and laughing carelessly. "My table or yours?" Tina asked, indicating the Ravenclaw table.

Hayley who was now slightly wet due to the rain smiled and said "lets sit at yours."
The hall was delightfully warm as if it had expected them.
The enchanted sky was full of grey clouds and rain seemed to be falling from them the enchantment stopping them from getting more wet than they already were.

"Ok!" Tina said and they made their way to the Ravenclaw table.
There were very few people left now and their was only pudding on the table. Tina didn't mind, she could never turn down chocolate gateaux!
She cut her self a big slice and offered it to Hayley. "It's delicious!" She said.

"No thanks" Hayley grinned as she too sat down "not the biggest fan of chocolate" she smiled as she grabbed a treakle tart and poured herself some pumpkin juice "would you like some?" she asked before she put the jug of juice down.

"Okay, yeah." Tina said, and she held out a goblet. She thanked Hayley and took a sip - it was quite nice. She hadn't tried it before.
Tina looked round the hall and saw there was only two teachers and lees then twenty students. She prefered it like this.

Hayley poured the juice in to Tina's waiting goblet, then she took a big gulp out of hers "ah" she smiled, she loved the taste of it, she had a tendancy to get hyper on that never mind butterbeer although that was good on a cold winters day, but alas it was still summer which was quickly drawing in to Autumn.

Tina smiled too, and then looked up and watched the ceiling. She loved rain. The sun was too hot and bright, and Tina prefered the dark. But Tina thought rain was beautiful. Being from Ireland, she got to see a lot of it!
The Grey clouds swirled above her head and thousands of tiny silver drops of rain shimmered but never fell from the ceiling.
She took a big bite of cake and chwed it happily. The food here was great - that was one of the many things she loved about Hogwarts. Her favourite thing was the mysteriousness of it all. And the fact you could wander round for ages and never see anyone, except the people in the paintings.
Tina swallowed her mouthfull of cake. "What's your favourite thing about Hogwarts?" she asked Hayley, turning to face her.

hayleys trail of thoughts were broken, she stole her gaze away from the enchanted ceiling and said automatically in bright tones "has to be the lake, I love sitting by the big oak tree" she smiled.
"What about you?" she asked happily.

"The magical mysteriousness!" Tina said with a wink. "And the fact that it's so big you can wander off and not be found untill you want to... I like the lake too, but not when it's sunny, I don't like sitting, slowly baking to death, in the sun. I hate sunbathing too. Waste of time when I could be...reading or something." Tina stopped, noticing that she was waffling on a bit.
She grinned for no particular reason and took one last sip of the pumpkin juice before it dissapeared with the rest of the food.

Hayley grinned, "I agree, I could walk around this castle for days....if I never needed to sleep" she laughed.
"I quite like writing storyies as well as reading though" she said happily.
Hayley too managed to have one last sip of her pumpkin juice before it disappeared.
Hayley tried not to show the disappointment that was etched up on her face.

Tina could'nt help laughing at the look on Hayleys face. "Sorry...yeah, me too! But I tend to start off a story, and never finish it! I get bored easily..."

"I have to finish my stories" she gasped enphasizing on the word "have".
"But I usually make it up as I go along and the story ends up being completely different from what I planned" she grinned.

"Ha! I plan the endings but never get to it!" She smiled. "Do ever write songs or poems?"

"I did once" Holly began but trailed off, her eyes glimmering with hurt.
She gave Tina a weak smile "still the past is the past you cant change it" she spoke once more attempting a smile.

Tina smiled back, as kindly as she could. "you can tell me, you know. I won't go spraying your secrets on the walls or anything!"

Hayley shook her head as if trying to physically get rid of the memory "No its fine, past is best kept burried, no point bringing it up again" she smiled.
She glanced round the hall, it was only them left and a couple of professors who were in a hushed conversation.
She once more took her attention to the enchanted sky, the rain had stopped but the grey clouds were rumbling in a threatening way.

Tina looked up too "Ooh, I hope there's a storm!" She Said eagerly. I love storms!"
Tina yawned. "Mmmm that pumpkin juice really makes me sleepy! You didn't slip in some sleeping potion while I wasn't looking, did you?" She winked.

"I don't much like storms, I just don't like the thunder" she smiled slightly as a shiver ran down her back.
"really? pumpkin juice usually makes me hyper" but she soon found she too was yawning "Now you've got me started" she laughed slightly then yawned again.

Tina yawned too and smiled. She stretched and the two teachers having the whispered conversation caught her eye. She wondered what they were talking about, then wondered it out loud. "What are they whispering about?" She couldn't keep the hatred out of her voice - one of the teachers was Snape.

"I don't know" she shrugged, she couldn't judge Snape having not been in any of his classes yet.

Tina was quiet for a long time, lost in thought. Eventually, she said "I've got a load of homework to do .I'd better go to the library."

Hayley smiled, "I've done most of mine...well defense against the dark arts anyway" she shuddered at the memory of her boggart.

Tina wasn't too fond of boggarts either. but it had been a good class. "Me too...what did you get for the homework?"

Hayley frowned silently trying to remember, "ah" she exclaimed with a bright smile "I got exceed expectation" she grinned, which was quite good considering sometimes she was known to have short attention span.
