Running

Harriate ran through the snow tears falling down her cheeks. Even as the snow fall became heavier and her lips turned blue Harriate didn't stop running. Her lungs burned from the air as it cut like daggers with every breath. She wished not for the first time today she wore more than a tank top as she ran through the snow.
Thoughts of Remus kept her running. She had to help him. Anyway possible. He had done so much for her and she had to start to re-pay him. She could not let him be taken away from everyone. He didn't deserve it. He was the kindest man she had ever met. Like a dad. At this thought a few more tears fell. She didn't deserve a dad especialy not anyone like Remus.
She tripped over a ditch in the road and raised her hands to breeak her fall as she crashed down on the snow covered pavement. She felt a sharp sting in her hands and saw the blood drip down onto the fresh snow, a rough road underneath haven grazed her hand and small bits of stone stuck into the wound. She ignored this as she forced herself to her feet thoughts of saving Remus keeping her going even though her now wet clothes from the snow froze her making her muscles ache.

Harriate heard Remus running after her and she tried to stop the tears falling. She heard his breathing getting closer when she felt his hand grab her arm. She tried to pull free to keep running. She had to do this. She couldn't let it end like this.

Harriate felt Remus grip losen and made to run for it before she felt herself being pushed forward as she fell to the ground again and again raised her scrapped hands to protect her face. She glanced around at Remus through Red tear stained eyes before trying to get off her stomach and run. She couldn't stop.

Harriate nodded and got to her feet shivering falling in the snow again and wiped the tears from her face with the back of her hand keeping the blood away from her eyes.
She looked at Remus wondering why he had run after her when he should be with Tonks.

Harriate couldn't help the small smile that made it's way onto her blue lips as she looked at Remus.
'Your not nasty, smelly, mad or old.' She said softly looking down at her snow covered boots.

Harriate winced as he picked out the stones and smiled sadly at him when he finished cleaning her hand up.
She was shocked momentarily when he hugged her and wrapped her arms around him tight burying her head into his chest knowing that this could be the last time she saw him. She wouldn't let Samuel take him away from her.
'Don't worry about me. You got your kids to look after.'

'I can't. I can't risk them coming back after you.' She said eyes still on the floor closed tight to hold back the tears.
'I can't lose you Remus and if this is the one certain way to keep you safe for now then i'll take it. i don't care what happens to me as long as your safe with your family.It would be easier if you just forgot you ever met me.'

Harriate smiled slightly and wrapped the cloack around her shoulders before hugging Remus again feling the tears fall down her cheeks once more.
'I'm sorry for everything Remus. I never did kill anyone...just trying to make you angry. I'm sorry. Take care. You really were like a dad to me. Thank you for letting me see what it could have been like. Love you.' She said the last part no more than a whisper as she held onto him tight knowing this was probaly the final goodbye.

Harriate smiled at his comment and let go wiping the tears from her eyes she nodded. Now was the time to go and face the music.
'I think my time with you in the forest was my happiest memory. If i couldn't cast a patronus with that then i couldn't at all. guess we'll never find out now.' Harriate said sadly meeting his eyes.
'Thank you. And goodbye.' She said sadly before turning and heading up to the castle before she gave up and ran back to Remus in hope of a few more minutes of happiness.

Lupin laughed and rolled his eyes "thought I got rid of you." He put his hand in his pocket and took out a bar of brokwn chocolate and handed it to her "For the way there, was going to use it for glass, but you need it more,"

'Can you blame me for wanting one last hug?' She joked and slipped the chocolate into her pocket.
'Thank you. Guess i really should head up.' She said looking up at the castle.
'never did feel like home. No matter what everyone said about how it would. Still felt like a prison. The forest was more my home. So thanks for the experiance. Made this orphan happy.' She pulled off her Silver necklace which had been charmed since she was bitten to have a protective coat around it so it wouldn't burn and placed it in Remus hand.
'I was found with it. My parents they said. Only fitting you have it.' She gave him one last hug.

Harriate nodded a small smile on her lips and hugged him back before stepping away.
'Just take care. Keep safe. Always love you...Dad.' A single tear ran down her cheek as she finaly called someone dad. She couldn't care to see how he reacted and if he would yell at her so instead she turned and ran for the castle.
